The employee cost software that turns your payroll consultant's Excel into project margins
Your staff costs live in your payroll consultant's spreadsheet, your revenue in the invoices — and the real project margin gets rebuilt by hand, at best. With Onwork you import costs in a few clicks, the system matches them to employees via their employee number and compares them with Work Progress and invoices. You instantly see how much each employee, project and customer really earns.

From Excel to management control in a few clicks
Import the file from your payroll consultant and Onwork links every row to the right employee via the employee number. A final summary shows rows processed and any errors.
Real margins, not estimates
Management control compares imported costs with revenue from Work Progress and invoices. You read the margin by employee, project, customer and period.
Every import tracked
Each upload creates a run with date, source file, rows processed and errors. And the Export button downloads the data in Excel whenever you need it.

Works better together.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about Employee Costs: what it does and how it fits your workflow.
What does the Onwork Employee Costs module do?
It imports staff costs from Excel files (typically provided by the payroll consultant or the HR system) and matches them to employees via their employee number. The costs power management-control reporting: the comparison between staff costs and revenue from Work Progress and invoices, with the margin by employee, project, customer and period.
How are costs matched to employees?
Via the employee number: each row in the file is linked to the Identifiers configured on the employee record, each with a value and a source (e.g. "Zucchetti", "Labour consultant"). If an employee number doesn't match anyone in the system, the row is ignored and counted among the summary errors. That's why you should configure identifiers before your first import.
How does management control work between costs and revenue?
Onwork compares the imported staff costs with the revenue from Work Progress and invoices, and calculates the margin as the difference. You can assess profitability by single employee, project, customer or time period. You need shifts recorded and approved, Work Progress created to value them, and costs imported regularly.
